High Seat

The E.A.S. is a fairly young state and such is it’s government. Founded in 2070, it’s newfound sovereignty dates back only fifteen years. Before that, the E.A.S. wasn’t a state, but merely an archipelago governed by stuarts appointed by the king (like everywhere else).

While most of the cities did nothing when the DUF’s liberation campaign started off, Pharos’ stuart Aldo Nocek made every effort to be ready for war once it reached the foot of the giant’s back.

He established a standing army and promised protection for those cities and towns who supported him. Soon the entire archipelago rallied to his cause, ready to defend itself. When Aldo Nocek saw that neither king nor any of his mainland-borne subjects were willing (or able) to pose a real threat to the liberation campaign, he called a summit on the giant’s back’s summit with the representatives of all cities and towns who joined his alliance.

At the summit’s summit it was decided to declare the archipelago an independent state, establish the High Seat — a governing council of representatives of said allied towns and cities, monitored by Aldo Nocek — and expand the military to defend the state against the DUF. When civil war broke loose in 2075, people quickly organized and formed the Order of Intelligence to overthrow the reign of terror the Holices have cast upon the land. After the holice’s leaders were executed, the High Seat decided to keep the Order in place, and support them with a considerable amount of funds to act as a peace keeping force inside the state.

By now the High Seat also contains representatives of varying industries, social groups and organisations, ready to pitch in for the betterment of the state.
