King’s Cradle
From this place, the King, a title forwarded from father to son, ruled over Fictionaria since ancient times until the DUF invaded it in 2073 and razed the palace to the ground.
Before the DUF decided to place a giant statue of The Lawmaker on top of the ruins, the palace itself was a multistructure, spanning the entirety of King’s Cradle and harboring a multitude of buildings and structures.
The King’s reign was solely managed through blood and lineage, which placed the eldest legitimate son on the throne after the King’s death.
The latest King wasn’t blessed with an heir, despite being married to Chani Ráchela’ (called the “Red Queen”) of the Fremon tribe of the South-Fictionarian Desert, and thus didn’t leave a successor when he was vanished by the DUF.
Nothing is known what happened to the Queen and the rest of the palace’s residents the invasion.
Still, as symbol of his omnipotence, four roads, guarded by four White Knights, lead out of the Cradle in all four directions of the compass.
The knights, armed with white garments and silver pikes and shields, bear the insignias of hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades, thus symbolizing the King’s understanding for all matters. The White Knight’s sole purpose is to guard the Cradle from enemies and to only let the King and those pass he declares worthy.
Their speech is sparse and of unknown character, but rumored to be the ancient tongue of kings from old ages. Since the White Knights have been guarding the gates consistently, without rest nor sleep since the first king ruled, no one knows their origin or nature.
The gates themselves are part of the impregnable walls enclosing the palace. This entire defense work is called “The Hedge”, and shields King’s Cradle from curious eyes and intruders .
Rumors say that the DUF was only able to overcome these obstacles due to a secret entrance, opened by a traitor from the inside.
Now, high cranes and construction Avis rise against the sky over King’s Cradle as an enormous statue of the Lawmaker is being constructed in the center of Fictionaria by DUF Forces.
