Nitz was employed as a warden at the Wolf Stream high security penitentiary before SSA Johnson Jr. found and recruited him for DUF service as the first Special Agent.
Nitz stood out because of his unfaltering will, a black-hearted decision-making ability and untold sadism. He received only first-rate practice in firearms and close-combat weaponry which, combined with his natural ability to seemingly ignore physics and deny misses, makes him the ultimate killing machine.
